Phew! She and Lucy from Charlie Brown would get along well!

Peppermint Patty, as well.

If you'd like your foreground characters to really 'pop' from the background, a tiny white outline outside the lines is ideal. This tip came from Kelly Freas, who said to use white paint (which used to be standard equipment). I adapted that to Liquid Paper, and now that I process everything eventually on the computer, even that is no longer needed, just judicious use of erase or the brush tool with white selected.
Sorry for talking shop on ya, but I've gotten years of use from that one with no end in sight.

I did do that alittle (just with the inking) in panel two with Michelle's pants and the bushes there. I certainly have the Wite Out correction pen to use.

The fact I gave her a darker shirt, and stripes for the boy, contributes to them not 'popping' out, too, in this case.

I find that using it consistently adds a dimension. When some of the background lines connect up with the foreground object, it tends to kill the effect.
